CREATIVEKIRKLAND is a web-based cultural tourism project funded in part by the State of Washington and the City of Kirkland, managed jointly by Kirkland Performance Center and Kirkland Arts Center.
As home to many individuals and venues that create for a living, Kirkland is a vibrant city that embraces and nurtures creativity. CREATIVEKIRKLAND’s mission is to demonstrate the diversity of arts and creative culture thriving in our city. At CREATIVEKIRKLAND, you will find profiles of just some of the individuals who have helped (and continue to help) shape Kirkland’s creative landscape. They offer tips about their favorite Kirkland destinations, their thoughts on working in their industry or artistic discipline, and their insights about what it is that makes Kirkland a great place to work and call home. CREATIVEKIRKLAND also includes visitor resources, including an interactive map and a listing of venues with information about upcoming exhibits, performances, festivals, and other special events.
How featured venues and individuals are selected for CREATIVEKIRKLAND:
The initial Kirkland venues listed at CREATIVEKIRKLAND were identified from the City of Kirkland’s ExploreKirkland.com arts listings. If you have a Kirkland venue that offers exhibitions, performances, or culturally-based events and you would like to have your venue listed on CREATIVEKIRKLAND, please CONTACT US.
The initial CREATIVES profiled for the website were identified by an advisory panel of Kirkland community members. New profiles will be added regularly; these future individuals to be profiled will be selected through a combination of online applicant submissions and additional names identified in the panel process. If you are an individual artist (i.e., visual, performing, literary, etc.) or creative professional (i.e., architect, landscape designer, game designer, chef, etc.) living or working in Kirkland who would like to be featured on CREATIVEKIRKLAND, please CONTACT US, or stop by Kirkland Arts Center or Kirkland Performance Center for a physical copy of the application.
